Halloween Costumes..ladies who brunch

So finally after careful consideration we have bought the kids costumes. I got Abram's costume online, sadly I should have bought it in a store so I could try it on him. Getting 18/24 months I thought I'd be safe..but it just fits. Hopefully he doesn't grow in the next week! Ava's costume was a bit harder to decide on. She wants to be a butterfly..no problem..then just about everyone I talk to with little girls were going to dress them as butterflies or fairies. SO I had a plan b. A little punk rocker..but that really didn't pan out. Oh Well! Butterfly it is! Her costume is cute none the less. They are having a costume contest on post next week. Possible I may take the kids.

I am going to plan a lunch for the ladies of my FRG. I think we need some kind of morale boaster with everything going on on post. Not to long before the guys come home..so just something to keep there mind off the CRAZY people!

Yes I know I have said a number of times I would keep better track of this thing. SUE ME! Life is crazy in this hole the Army dug. My brother is still here gracing us with his presents. Finally he got a job..thank goodness, I was afraid I'd wake up one day to find my 25 year old brother, over-weight, and playing Wii in my living room. Sigh....

Dave is gone but that is the same tune! Second nature by now!

Just last week we celebrated Abram's first birthday! FIRST!!! I can't believe it has been a year. His birthday party was amazing. He destroyed his birthday cake, no promoting needed. Dug right in!!!

Ava, always the princess, is doing great. Starting preschool next week. If she could understand that she'd be uber excited I'm sure! She is getting so big! Almost 3! Wow.

My time has been limited for extras due to kids, volunteering, and house duties. I would say I will try and update..but frankly I hate lying to myself!

Here again..Alone

Some much has changed in such a short period of time. My baby brother has come to live with us, due to issues with our step-mom. My dear husband is gone again..this time for two months. I am getting use to him being gone so much..not that I like it. I can't wait for 2010 when he can finally leave this life behind. The kids have been pretty good so far. My daughter has had her days...days where I can't imagine if I acted like this how I made it thus far in life! So I guess terrible twos do hold strong..though I think it should be called the curious twos. She doesn't know better she just wants to see what happens with you put olive oil all over the couch..or if you can finger paint with your poop..just a couple of the things she has been trying to figure out! Being a mom isn't for the weak that is for sure...especially a single mom. That is how I feel now..most of the time..single. My husband and I exists in a dating world...we see each other in between diapers..bathes..rotations..and formations. How do you take time for your marriage with life going on around you? Do you have to just sit down with the calendar and reserve life to make your union work? Sometimes I feel we are going to fail..like we don't devote the time and effort into our lives as a pair...just our lives as a Mom..Dad..and Soldier. Love can suffer..just hopefully the wounds ours is taking are superficial.

Life goes on..

...Since my last entry we have celebrated Ava's second birthday. She has given new meaning to terrible twos, that is an understatement. From the painting with her poop to the coloring all over the furniture she has given me little break. Abram is growing like a champ...8 months old and already 24lbs. I dread his teenage years where he can eat me out of house and home. He is starting to crawl but is still a bit unsure of himself. Dave went to the promotion board today...and passed with flying colors!! I am so proud of him. He should be due to get his promotion come September or October. He is getting ready to go to BNCOC for two months of training. Again alone with the kids while he is gone. I am planning a trip to go see my mother and baby brother. Hopefully flying with two kids will prove to be less eventful than I fear.

The wait...

...a week left till this deployment is over. It has proven to go by quick...until now. My daughter is sick, quite sick at that. I hate when she is sick. She isn't easily pleased. Though my son, often called my golden child, goes with the flow of everyday happens. Always smiles and drool..can't get better than that. He is growing bigger everyday, thank god, Dave is in for a big surprise when he gets back. His little man isn't so little anymore! May brings the new list for deployment orders. I pray Dave's unit isn't on it. He wants to go over to the sand box so bad..I on the other hand want to be a family for once. If there are no orders for him he is going to put in a change of station...hopefully back to Knox. Crossing my fingers and toes on that one...

My Flaw....

...It taking the time to actually sit down for five minutes to update this thing! Having two kids under two has proved to be quite a challenge. My husband is gone a lot working! This month he is gone in Korea for training of some sort. So it is just me, the two kids, and dog Dave insisted he needed. It has been a little over a week since he left...at first I didn't let the little things stress me out..but as the time goes on my nerves are wearing thin. Ava has been boycotting naps for a week now..and without a nap she is a demon! Abram has been my golden child as always and just goes with it. The dog has eaten the fence!!! It is awful! It is like having another toddler to take care of. I pleaded with Dave to wait until he got back from Korea to get a dog but we ended up getting one in December! GRRR!!! Now I am stuck putting up with a dog that doesn't listen to me and eats anything and everything pretty much...especially my underwear!!!

Dave will finally be home four days before Ava's 2nd birthday! We are planning a big party for his soldiers and her birthday all in one. It should be fun...lots of drunk men...exciting. What a way for a two year old to spend her birthday!! I just can't believe she is going to be two already! Time flies...wish this month would fly by....
